Blended learning is 'the thing' in training for the mid noughties. But like so many training 'things' before, it has become something of a bandwagon, and, as a result, to be treated with great scepticism.
But blended learning is more than just a fad; it’s a recognition that other training methods out there are simply not strong enough to work for all audiences, all of the time. Sometimes, only a combination of learning methods will do the job. |

Building on this, and on her experience with skills management tools and methods, Nikki now works at EDS, running a unique, EMEA-wide ‘Skills Alignment’ reskilling programme. Based upon skills gap identification, this aligns training and skills development to business goals, both maximising return on spend and supporting long term development aims.

Often when a new IT system is designed and rolled-out, the training department has to wait until the system is finished before designing the training to go with it.
The alternative - building training at the same time as the system - might be riskier, but it allows both the system and its training to be deployed sooner, and, done correctly, can produce content that can be re-purposed for use elsewhere. |
